Mr. Triple Double, The Brodie, The Hardest Playing Player on most teams, Russell Westbrook is almost to a point where he could potentially been known as the guy who just gets triple-doubles. Westbrook who has been on 4 different teams in the last 4 years and now has the potential to make it 5 different teams, needs to find some way to make his way to a winning situation or it could hurt the legacy that he has built up until now. As the Lakers starting point guard this season Westbrook has gotten a lot of negative attention due to his play and his mentality going into the season, and it has caused him to average career low numbers this season. Westbrook went from averaging 22.5 points, 11.7 assists and 11.5 rebounds last season with Washington to now averaging 18.5 points, 7.1 assists and 7.4 rebounds as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.

In the Lakers exit interviews, Monday April 11, 2022, Westbrook garnered a lot of heat for the questionable comments he made about the team and the season overall. Before looking into the comments made on Monday, it should be known that while in Washington, Westbrook did say he doesn't need to win a championship to be a champion and during his first season alongside Anthony Davis and Lebron, he goes out and says "I had no expectations on the season".

During his time in his exit interview, Westbrook made statements about him and former Head Coach, Frank Vogel, not getting along and because he wasn't able to average a triple-double this season, it was a failure. There was nothing about winning or anything about taking accountability for his play on the court, it was all excuses about everyone other than himself. This is why Westbrook can have the potential to be a forgotten superstar, other than averaging a triple-double and playing hard, there is nothing else you can say about Westbrook's resume. There is a reason why players like Kevin Durant, Victor Oladipo, Paul George and many others, started having better careers and better numbers the season after they leave a team Westbrook is on.

There will never be an NBA player that will come out and say anything about Westbrooks heart or how he is as a teammate because that isn't a question, but the real question comes with his IQ and if he has the mentality to win and win more than 1 playoff series. It's sad to see a future Hall of Famer have the mentality that he does right now, but at the end of the day that is on him. Let me know what you guys think!
